Meet the team!
Our team includes HSEEP Exercise Planners, Structure and Shipboard Firefighting Instructors, FEMA ALL Hazards Instructors, Physicians, PA/APRN, Paramedics who bring a wide range of disaster response experience to the table.
He is an experienced disaster responder having served on multiple missions as the FL-5 DMAT Team Commander, MST Group Supervisor, IRCT Deputy Commander and Operations Section Chief (Charlie, Francis, Katrina, Rita, Wilma, Gustav, Ike, Sandy, Haiti Earthquake, Presidential Inauguration’s and SOTUA’s, July 4, Harvey, Irma, Maria). John is a member of both the IRCT Operations and Planning Working Groups and is currently the senior Operations Section Chief for Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). John currently serves as chairman for the State Medical Response System (SMRS) and is the Team Commander for the State Medical Response Team 7 (SMRT-7) for the State of Florida. John is a certified All Hazards Incident Commander, Planning Section Chief, Finance & Admin Section Chief, Logistics Section Chief and qualified Type I Operations Section Chief and a Train-The-Trainer for all these positions in addition to the L-449 classes. He recently established I-Command Solutions LLC, to teach the EMI All Hazards classes and is a consultant for Incident Response Technologies Inc. He is a retired Battalion Chief from Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue (FL) and has over 32 years experience in public safety.

He is a retired Battalion Chief from Broward County, Florida. He has over 33 years experience in the Fire Service. He was the co-founder of the Hazardous Materials Team for his department and remained the Haz Mat Team Coordinator until his retirement in 2009. He holds and Associates Degree in Fire Science and Emergency Management. He the first in his department to graduate from the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program. Pete has been deployed on many fire and medical missions throughout his career and continues to deploy as a Safety Officer for Florida 5 DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team).
Pete is well-versed in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System. He has taught ICS, Emergency Management, Hazardous Materials, Shipboard Firefighting, Confined Space Rescue and Fire Inspection practices in Florida and California
